QuickTime 4.0 is now final. You can download a copy from Apple's QuickTime web site. If you already have a copy of the beta version, you can run the QuickTime Updater utility to move up to the final version.
QuickTime and Portfolio conflict? Neil Herber writes; "Extensis' Portfolio crashes with a Type 1 error whenever I try to add a .bmp file to a catalogue. If I resave them as jpegs or gifs they work fine." Downgrading to QuickTime 3.x eliminated the crashes. He contacted Extensis about this. While they did not exactly confirm the problem, they replied: "You will need to continue to run only QuickTime 3 to use Portfolio. QuickTime 4 is new and has not been tested with Portfolio 4."
