QuickTime 3.0.x tidbits

As reported by several readers, the URL link for downloading QuickTime 3.0, as obtained from Apple's QuickTime web site, sometimes does not work. I just tried it. It did fail to work the first time - but worked fine the second time. The ftp site is probably just overloaded with requests.

A couple of readers have noted that the QuickTime 3.0.1 installer also places a new 2.0.1 version of the QuickTime Plugin into Netscape and Explorer folders.

Another reader reports that Mac OS 8.5 will ship with QuickTime 3.0.2.
