QuickTake problems on G3 Macs?: a follow-up

Last time, we noted that a reader got a crash every time he tried to download QuickTake pictures to his G3 Mac. Here are some follow-ups:

Ivo Dominguez also had some problems with QuickTake on his G3 desktop Mac. It worked only after he created a custom extension set via Extensions Manager (he kept everything enabled except files related to his modem). He had problems with QuickTake if he instead just enabled the camera's extensions and the Base OS set.

Eric Westby points out that QuickTake will not work if connected to serial port that has AppleTalk active (as pointed out in the QuickTake documentation). In general, Apple recommends using the modem port rather than the printer port.

David Carbone notes that the documentation states that QuickTime IC is incompatible with QuickDraw GX. This could be a source of some reported problems.

Otherwise, numerous readers wrote to say that they are happily using their QuickTake with a G3 and are having no problems at all.
