Quicken 2007 (#3): Updating prebinding for problems launching; new haxie versions resolve some issues

Updating prebinding for problems launching MacFixIt reader James Shaw reports that updating prebinding, as we've recommended in the past few days for application launching issues, resolves an issue with Quicken 2007 being unable to launch.

James writes:

"I too had problems with Quicken 2007 using 10.4.8, where I would try to open it, it would bounce twice in the dock, and then disappear. No crash report in the logs, it just wouldn't open. For awhile I used Onyx to run the cron scripts, optimize the system, and clear all caches, and then Quicken 2007 would work once, but wouldn't start up again after I quit it. Eventually it stopped working even if I ran the Onyx utilities, or deleted it's prefs or caches, or reinstalled it. It just wouldn't work anymore.

"Then I tried updating the pre-binding as suggested for another problem I read about with microsoft software, and that (so far) has seemed to solve the problem, now my Quicken 2007 seems to work fine."

Updating to latest version of haxies can resolve issues Some users have reported that updating to the latest versions of two haxies from Unsanity -- Application Enhancer and FruitMenu -- resolves issues with repeated unexpected quits in Quicken 2007.

One reader writes: 'The updated beta Application Enhancer, FruitMenu and Windowshade applications solved my problems with Quicken 2007 crashes."
