QuickBooks Y2K fix withdrawn; new version due this week

After applying the Y2K fix for QuickBooks (mentioned here last week), Wayne Linder could not get the program to work at all. Maybe that's why the following statement is on the QuickBooks web site:

QuickBooks 4.0 and QuickBooks Pro 4.0 for Macintosh - Program Update M12. Due to unanticipated issues encountered by some customers, this update has been temporarily suspended. The update is being revised and should be available through our download service in about a week.
