Disk-at-Once problem Remi Zara was having problems using Toast 4.1.1 with his Que FireWire CD-RW. In particular: "When I change the default pause between tracks (2 second) for even one track (say to 1 second), Toast goes in Disk-at-Once mode. It burns a 'lead in', and there's no preparation/caching between tracks. In that case, the burn fails." QPS replied: We do know that we have a problem with Disk-at-Once with our FireWire drives using Toast and Jam software. The problem seems to be a combination of the software and the panel we use on the drive to convert from IDE to FireWire. At this point we do not have a solution for it other then not using Disk-at-Once." Toast does not see drive Nick Romano offers advice about a problem where Toast 4.1.1 no longer sees your Que FireWire CD-RW drive at all (see also previous coverage): "With older versions of Toast, an extension is installed named Que!Fire. You see it and it looks like it should be there as a driver, but it should not. This is the SIM Extension that makes your FireWire CD Recorder look like a SCSI CD Recorder. Here is the snag. After you remove the file and shut down or just reboot the problem still exists. This is because the Que drive never gets reset to work as a FireWire drive. In order to reset the drive you must remove the Que!Fire extension, shut down and unplug the Que Drive power cable as well as the FireWire cable and wait 30 seconds or so for the unit to flush. Now you can plug in the power and the FireWire cable and boot. Toast should see your drive now. Another catch is this. You get an update and decide to do a clean install of Toast. If you start by installing your older version, then Que!Fire will be installed again."
