Problems copying files to/from Zip/Jaz cartridges: a follow-up

Following up yet again on previous reports of problems copying files to Zip/Jaz cartridges:

Charlie Saeger found a work-around for his problem with freezes when copying multiple files to a Zip cartridge: Put the files to-be-copied into a folder and then drag the folder to the Zip.

Arthur Visser confirms that having a CD-ROM disc in the drive may prevent the freezes (as reported before). In his case, he similarly found that simply disabling the Apple CD/DVD Driver Extension also eliminated the freezes - although this means that your CDs no longer mount. He notes: This work-around has been tested and confirmed on four different Macs: 3 G3 desktop Macs and a Power Mac 7100. The Iomega driver was v.6.0.2."
