Problems checking .Mac mail with Windows browsers

Safari 3.0 beta for Windows can access .Mac webmail, but some other browser cannot.

It appears that changes made to Apple's Web site have caused problems with access to .Mac webmail under various Windows browsers and the Mac OS X version of Internet Explorer. Access to .Mac works well, however, under the Windows version of Apple's Safari 3.0 beta.

MacFixIt reader Wesley Jones writes:

"I travel a lot and I often find myself having to use a hotel's computer (which are always Windows computers) to check my .Mac email account. With the new redesigned Apple website, I have had trouble accessing my email from Apple's .Mac website on more than one computer - it always hangs up after clicking the "log-in" link. Before the site was redesigned, I never had problems accessing my email. On one computer, I was able to download the Windows version of Safair 3 beta, and I could then access my .Mac account."

Adam North adds:

"Try checking your .Mac email with Internet explorer on a PC even on a mac, you only come up with a white blank page."
