Pro golfer Zoeller files suit over Wikipedia entry

Professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller has filed suit against a Miami law firm whose IP address has been connected to vandalism on his Wikipedia page, according to The Smoking Gun. Zoeller's entry on Wikipedia allegedly had been altered in December to include numerous unsavory details such as alcoholism, drug addiction, and beating his wife and children.

Consequently, the former Masters and U.S. Open winner found out the origin of the vandalism--a computer at the Josef Silny & Associates law firm in Miami--and sought legal action. So far, there's no word on who was responsible for the naughty edits or what the reasoning (if any) was behind them.

Zoeller attempted to remain anonymous for the suit, using the alias "John Doe," but his complaint quoted portions of his Wikipedia entry that easily exposed his identity. In it, the golfer claimed that the false information had hurt his income and reputation and led to "mental anguish."
