a. TechTool and freezes and generic icons after rebuilding the desktop: possible solutions? Several emails (particularly one from Robert Haslam) suggest that having Mac Easy Open installed when you rebuild the desktop with TechTool may lead to problems (such as those reported previously). Todd Mushynski claims that increasing TechTool 1.0.4's memory solved his desktop rebuild problems.

b. RAM Doubler and floppy disk mounting problem: a solution? Regarding an inability to mount floppy disks that appears to be related to RAM Doubler (as mentioned previously), Bob Maguire claims that a clean install of RAM Doubler may be the cure.

c. PowerBook 3400 modem problems: a solution? Regarding reconnection problems with the internal modem in the PowerBook 3400, Joe White writes that Apple told him to increase his disk cache to 1024K. He did so and the problem went away. (Is it my imagination or has increasing the disk cache or zapping the PRAM been a suggested solution to almost every problem reported this past week!?)
