The first Porsche model to bear the Speedster name--the 356 Speedster--has inspired the 911 Speedster. It will debut at the Paris Motor Show in early October.

The new 911 Speedster may look like a blast from the past, but it delivers 408 horsepower and can reach 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Porsche

The 911 Speedster, inspired by the 356 Speedster, will be making its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Porsche just released photos and specs on the 2011 911 Speedster. The limited-edition two-seat roadster will have a run of 356 units worldwide, with only about 100 heading to the U.S.

Inspired by the 1953 356, the Speedster features a double-bubble hardcover for the manual soft top. It only comes in Pure Blue, but on special request, customers can get Carrera White.

The Speedster boasts a 3.8-liter flat six engine, which delivers 408 horsepower (23 more horsepower than the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet). It can reach 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds with Sport Chrono Plus, and has a top-track speed of 190 mph.

According to Porsche, the $204,000 rear-wheel-drive Speedster is expected to get 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.
