Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting is coming back soon in digital form, with Atari and Codemasters confirming that Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 will hit consoles and PCs in March next year.

Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting is coming back soon in digital form, with Atari and Codemasters confirming that Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 will hit consoles and PCs in March next year.

The 2005 iteration of Ricky Ponting International Cricket was the best selling cricket game of last year. Codemasters is promising that the 2007 version will expand the series' trademark fluid gameplay.

The game features official ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 content, and will feature licensed players such as Andrew Flintoff, Brian Lara, Mahendra Dhoni, Muttiah Muralitharan and of course, Ricky Ponting.

The game will feature a dedicated ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 mode that has all the official teams, stadia, kits and equipment of the tournament. Other modes include a the ICC Champions' Trophy, exhibition matches, One Day games, Test Matches and 20-over run fests. Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 will deliver with online competitive play on PC (LAN and online) and Xbox Live.  

Codemasters say that new gameplay additions include subtle edges and sweepshots to batting, improved bowling physics and a new reflex-testing slip catch system.
