Pioneer Firmware Video Problems Jeff Klammer reports that the recently released Pioneer firmware update, which includes compatibility for high-speed DVD media, causes interlaced video problems when viewing DVDs:

"When I upgraded my aftermarket Pioneer DVR-A04 from the 1.30 to 1.33 firmware on my Power Mac G4 AGP Sawtooth I now have interlaced video when playing DVD's and on any DVD that I burn with iDVD. Previous to this everything worked flawlessly. Upgrading to the 1.33 firmware is the only change to my system since it was working properly. Pioneer's flash utility won't let you downgrade to 1.30 firmware."
