A new group-buying portal called PhotoWhoa has sprung up to offer photography-centric deals to shutterbugs. Similar to popular sites such as Groupon that offer items at discount prices, PhotoWhoa requires a large number of buyers to purchase the same item.

All you need to do is provide your e-mail address to enable you to sign up for deals that supposedly give you up to 90 percent off retail prices of photography-related products. Besides sending you deals every few days, PhotoWhoa offers a money-back guarantee in the event you're not satisfied with your purchase.

Currently, the site is offering deals on e-books that cover understanding exposure and postprocessing. Upon payment via your credit card, the provider will send a digital copy of the book to your in-box.

PhotoWhoa could definitely help photographers save some money. But from what we've heard about other group-buying sites--where services and products promised weren't delivered due to overwhelming demand--we wonder is if photographers will bite.
