Patch time! Adobe updates Reader, Acrobat for critical vulnerabilities
Adobe's security bulletin for the updates to Acrobat and Reader states that critical vulnerabilities have been identified which could cause the applications to crash, allowing access by potential hackers to take control of the affected system.

The update is recommended for all users of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
To read the full security bulletin and download the updates from Adobe, click here. Again, this update is recommended for all users and should be applied immediately. Adobe Reader should now be at version 9.3 and Acrobat should be at version 8.2. Security expert Graham Cluley reports that Adobe:
issued fixes for multiple vulnerabilities in its Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat software, one of which has been actively exploited by hackers (and detected by Sophos as Troj/PDFJs-FS since mid-December).
