Parallels Desktop 2.2.1920.0 (RC2) released: Improved Mac Pro, Core 2 Duo iMac support; works with any amount of RAM

Parallels Desktop 2.2.1920 has been released, bringing improved support for quad-processor Mac Pro towers and Core 2 Duo iMacs.

The new release resolves an issue where Intel-based Macs with more than 2 GB of RAM did not function properly with Parallels in some cases.

A press release states:

"Through our active engagement with the Mac community, we knew that the ability to work on Mac Pro towers and the new line of Core 2 Duo iMacs with more than 2GB of RAM was a 'must have' feature. As always, we listened and immediately began working to make that happen," said Benjamin Rudolph, Marketing Manager, Parallels. "The result of that relationship is Desktop Update RC2, which ensures that any user working with any Intel-Mac configured with any amount of RAM can easily run Windows and OS X simultaneously, without any system modifications."

The update is available as a 28.8 MB standalone download.
