Panasonic has announced the development of the first interchangeable 3D lens, which it says will be available by the end of 2010.
Though the lens is currently still in development, Panasonic says it will be compatible with the company's Lumix G Micro System cameras.
It has two optical systems in the one lens, which will create a stereo image to be combined together in a 3D image processing system. There's no word yet as to whether this will require a firmware update of current cameras in the company's range, or indeed if the lens will be usable on other cameras that also use the Micro Four Thirds lens mount such as those from Olympus.
