Palm Desktop 4.0: Don't use it with a Handspring

Despite reports of success in using Handspring Visors with the new Palm Desktop 4 software (see item below and on today's OS 9 page), the following information is posted on the Handspring web site:

The new release from Palm: don't use it. Palm, Inc. recently released Palm Desktop 4.0 for Macintosh, which synchronizes under Macintosh OS X. This software has not yet passed the tests for use with Handspring products, and therefore Handspring does not support Palm's version of the software.

The web page offers advice on what to do while waiting for the Handspring-compatible version of Palm Desktop 4.0 for Macintosh - as well as what you can do if you have already updated to 4.0.
