A pair of unannounced LG smartphones are appearing online just four weeks before Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The preliminary details were found in the UPnP Forum (1) (2), a popular spot for spying new devices before they come to market. Aside from the respective model numbers, there's not a ton of information to glean from the actual findings. PocketNow, however, has unearthed additional details.

After piecing together user agent profiles and model numbers, the LG-P700 will run Ice Cream Sandwich and feature a 640x480-pixel display. As that resolution does not fit the typical dimensions for Android handsets, it could be the sign of a unique Android 4.0 experience optimized for landscape mode. Of course, that's assuming that the rumored resolution is correct.

The LG-P880 is listed as having a 720p HD display, which means that it could be a high-end model along the lines of the Optimus LTE. What's more, Pocketnow surmises that it may be the model number for the rumored quad-core LG X3 , which leaked a few weeks back. As a refresher, that device is expected to pack a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, and 16GB storage.

Mobile World Congress gets under way on February 27 so look for all the juicy details to leak out in short order. CNET will be in Barcelona to bring you all the details in words, photos, and video.

As many of you know, phones like these don't like to kept secret for too long. Which of these two are you more anxious to see? An unconventional 4.0 experience or a quad-core top of the line device?
