Apple's paltry release notes for Pages 3.0.2 initially left the purpose of the update a mystery. but we've now learned of a few specific enhancements.

Pages 3.0.2 appears to fix a problem where Helvetica Narrow appears as a substitute for the standard Helvetica font.

One reader writes:

"Just installed 3.0.2 on an intel Mac running 10.5.1. It seems to have fixed the maddening bug with Helvetica fonts."

The update also resolves an issue where page content shrinks down to an illegible size when comments are included (text occupies only a thin strip in the center of the page, leaving most of the area unused).

Also, several users have reported that documents open much more quickly under Pages 3.0.2 relative to previous iterations.
