Outlook 2001 causes problems with Classic?

CNET staff
Last week, we reported that (for at least some users), the new Outlook 2001 client would crash on login to a server, when running Mac OS 9.1. Apparently, you may get a similar problem when running Classic from OS X:

Gig Toshiba writes: "I installed Outlook 2001 in Mac OS 9.1 yesterday on my PowerBook G4. Restarted into Mac OS 10.0.4 and all worked well. However, today, Outlook 2001 froze the Classic environment on three occasions. Tried killing just Outlook 2001, but it shuts down the entire Classic environment every time."

For Tim Leed, just installing Outlook resulted in an inability to launch Classic.

"As soon as I installed MS Outlook 2001 Final, Classic could not longer boot up under OS X. The exact same thing happened in a new series iBook. Before installing Outlook 2001 Final, Classic ran fine. Afterwards, it doesn't finish loading."

A reminder: We have a new QuickTopic for posting reports on Outlook.
