OS X Utilities Updates: Virtual PC X; Ettercap

Virtual PC X 4.0.6 is an update to the OS X version of Virtual PC. Connectix states: "We added a fix to increase performance with Windows 2000. We also fixed an issue with PPP connections causing crashes when launching the Test Drive, and we fixed a problem that caused the Test Drive to crash when virtual machines were set to use Unique IP under Virtual PC 4.0.2 in OS 9.1 and then booted in the Test Drive.

Ettercap 0.5.4 is a multipurpose sniffer/interceptor/logger for switched LAN. It supports active and passive dissection of many protocols (even ciphered ones) and includes many feature for network and host analysis. It runs as a UNIX program via Terminal in Mac OS X. As pointed out by securemac.com, its major advantage over competing Mac GUI programs, such as EtherPeek, is that Ettercap is free!
