OS X Utilities Updates: SNAX; File Buddy X; Key Xing; more

SNAX 1.1.8 is a replacement for the Finder included in Mac OS X. The new version has several new features and fixes, including: "Open with" menu lets you open selected documents with any application.

File Buddy X 7.0b13 is an OS X version of this desktop and file/folder editing and task tool. Among what is new: The Delete Empty Icon Files command has been removed from the Cleaning menu; The Desktop File submenu of the Cleaning menu is not available in OS X, since OS X no longer uses the traditional desktop file mechanism for maintaining application information and icons.

Key Xing 1.3 launches applications and files from the keyboard. You can now select and execute compiled AppleScripts.

ClipDoubler X 1.2.5 offers multiple clipboards in OS X. This version has been updated for OS X 10.1.2.

Watson 1.04 is an extendable application for Mac OS X that gives an "Aqua" user interface to a number of Internet-based services such as stock quotes, telephone lookup, and movie schedules. The update includes overall fixes that improve parsing of Image search sites and phone lookup.

PrefsOverload 3.5 is a Mac OS 9 Preferences manager that has been updated to also work with OS X's plist files.

Znippetizer-X 1.3.4f2 is a drag and drop tool that stores all your code or text snippets in a database.

Tape 1.7.1 can covert folders into application packages. The update fixes a crashing problem when using the built in text editor on Mac OS X. It also adds a Dock menu.

iGetter X 1.6 is a download manager and accelerator utility. Among the new features in this update: A 'Process Web Page' function that can process all web page links for downloading.

CDFinder X 3.5.1 is a tool to create catalog files of your hard disks, floppies, Audio-CDs, ZIP's and anything else that spins. The update now supports the mouse scroll wheels in Mac OS X.

DMG Tool 2.0 quickly creates compressed disk images. The update drag-and-drop disk image creation.

Classic? 0.2.1 visually indicates Classic's state from the Dock.

Classic Startup Sound 0.1.1 is out. The author explains: "In prior Mac OS version you could put a sound in your Startup Items folder and it would play when the Desktop loaded. Mac OS X sounds are aiff sounds and there is no way to have one play at startup. This simple gadget gives you the ability to have a sound play when the desktop loads in X."

Net Monitor 1.6b1 graphs network interface throughput in a floating window, the Dock, or the Menu Bar.

Xpod 1.0.6 lets you copy MP3 files from one Mac to another. The update offers bugfixes and changes for iPod 1.0.3.

Xsee 1.6.2 is an OS X image browser and viewer.

IE Cache Trasher 1.2.1 deletes a file called "download cache" which can get quite big if you do not watch it. In this version, a problem that occurred when the download cache was too small was fixed.

Virex Definitions for January is the virus definition DAT file for Virex versions 5.9.x and 6.x.
