Apple Macintosh Manager 2.1 is the latest release of this OS X Server client admin tool utility. No word on what has changed.

hfspax 1fc4 is a replacement backup tool for pax, catering for HFS . This update fixes a bug with failed resource and Finder info restores, 10.1 compatible, and< various improvements and more documentation.

WordService 2.1 performs 27 operations on selected text: Services added include Insert Date and Time, Initial Caps Of Sentences, and Remove Quotes. Initial Caps was renamed to Initial Caps Of Words, and it adds French and German localizations.

SharePoints 1.0.2 SharePoints is an application or a preference pane that makes it easy to add and delete share points like in the old Finder. In Mac OS X, by default, you are limited to sharing only what is in your public folder in your home directory. This program makes it easy to share any folder. This release fixes a lock/unlock image problem with the prefPane version. SharePoints now works with setups that have a NetInfo master other than the local machine.

SNAX 1.1.6 is a Finder replacement. Changes include an improved toolbar, Swedish and Italian localizations, a fix for hiding icons in the fire browser, plus new buttons in the terminal toolbar and columns in the file browser.

Mac Tablet 1.1 is a simple note pad. This update fixes a bug in the Go To Window command, plus several other bug fixes and interface improvements. Note that toolbar button is disabled temporary.

A Better Finder Rename X 4.2.2 is a Contextual menu module to quickly batch rename multiple files. This release fixes a minor bug in the OS X version of the tool which caused the version number to be incorrectly displayed as 3.6 final.

ChangeDesktop 1.0 changes the Desktop picture at specified intervals. It can pull photos from different directories automatically, it can pull images out of bundles such as screensavers, and it adds a single switch and quit option.

America Online (AOL) 19B fixes a login issue which caused the AOL client to "hang" at steps 4 or 6.

Crypt 1.0 is a native Mac OS X application for encrypting and decrypting files with a password of your choice. The cipher used is Blowfish. Blowfish is currently the fastest mainstream block cipher and is used in OpenSSH.

Vicomsoft Internet Gateway X 1.0b1 is the Mac OS X version of this utility which connects all networked computers securely to the Internet through one account, using any connection type from a modem to high-speed ADSL.

Update: Robert York writes: "After installing and running the gateway, Mac OS X's access privileges were changed such that only the two administrator accounts worked correctly. The other users had question marks in the dock instead of application icons and they could not access the internet. Apparently ordinary users no longer had access privileges to folders that they should have access to. There appears to be no easy fix, except to login as root and restore the privilges manually."

Update: According to Vicomsoft, only the Applications folder's permissions were changed. The version I installed was 1.0b. Vicomsoft says that 1.0b1 corrects the problem."

Open Terminal Here 1.1 is a Finder toolbar script to open a terminal window. This update sports a new icon, it handles b-bit characters in file names, and has properties to set the terminal window width or height. (The user-selected settings in the Terminal preferences don't seem to be used when a terminal window is created via AppleScript.)

DOCtor 1.0 (requires Stone Studio) converts Microsoft Word .doc files into .pdf files.
