Repeating text work-around? If you have the repeating text problem we previously noted here (and detailed in this MacFixIt Forums thread), George Papanicolaou offers this tip: "Adjusting keyboard repeating delay to 'long' got rid of the problem for me."

Use aliases to access network "servers" Pollo Warratz created a folder on his desktop and placed aliases to network-mounted volumes there. "I changed View Options of this folder to column view, and now I am able to browse through server volumes even when they are not mounted."

Note: If you also add the password for the volume access to your keychain (via the Options screen in the login window), you will be able to mount the server next time simply by double-clicking the alias icon/name. No need to use the "Connect to Server" command or enter a password. This mimics what you can do in Mac OS 9.

Use OmniWeb to see volume contents Pollo Warratz notes: Drag your hard disk icon to the OmniWeb window and get a complete list of all the files and folders on your drive - including the ones normally invisible in the Finder. Double-clicking a folder or package reveals its contents.
