HP Print Quality options not listed Rod Keller writes: "Ever since upgrading to OS X v. 10.1, I have been unable to select the print quality for my HP DeskJet 840c. When the 'Paper Type/Print Quality' tab is selected in the Print dialog, the appropriate box opens, but the buttons to select 'Draft, Normal or Best' print quality do not appear." Rod contacted HP about this and received the same reply we posted the other day regarding another HP and OS X problem: "This is currently under investigation by HP. Most likely an update to the printer driver will address this."

Opening AppleWorks in Classic Regarding the problem noted previously, where reader John Fowler was unable to use the Classic version of AppleWorks without booting into OS 9 (needed to solve a printing problem), several readers offered similar solutions. For example: "Open the AppleWorks package via the Show Package Contents contextual menu. Navigate to the MacOSClassic folder and open it. You will see the classic AppleWorks icon there. Drag that icon to the Dock. You can now click it to launch the Classic version. Classic AppleWorks does not have the printing issue reported."
