Formac tevion software tip Allan Lovett writes regarding the Formac tevion software 1.0: "It allows the TV tuner function to work with OS X. However, I found that it would work for channels 2 through 13, but I could not use the higher channels. I found that the frequencies were wrong . By editing the com.formac.tevion.plist file (in ~/Library/Preferences), I was able to change all the frequencies to the correct ones. It is somewhat confusing because the channels are in text string order, not numerical. For instance, it is in the order of 1,10, 100, 101,102...., 2,20,21....3,30,.... You can see what the frequencies should be by checking what the frequencies are for the given channels when running under OS 9 (but not running in Classic)."

Fix for corrupted SmartMedia card? We have previously reported that, when working with SmartMedia cards, it is best to drag their contents to a Mac volume and work with the photos from there. Working with the card directly can corrupt the card - to the point where it no longer works in the camera. Not can the camera reformat it. Barry Levine found that Mac OS X can bring the card back to life. To do so: Use Disk Utility in OS X to erase the card; then try to reformat the card in the camera. One problem: as recently noted here, Microtech's CameraMate does not yet work in OS X 10.1.2.

Now Contact bug? Don Montalvo found the following bug in Now Contact for OS X: "Take two contacts, one Friends and one Business. Now switch the Friends contact's category to Business...BAM! Your fields in all your contacts get randomly shuffled. I've had this happen three times."
