Epson drivers not imminent A reader offers this info about forthcoming Epson drivers for Mac OS X, such as for the 900 series printers: "At an internal meeting last week, Epson management delivered disappointment, not software. Expect to run Epson printers from Classic for at least another two to three months." Consider this a rumor for now.

TIL article on using OS 9 control panels from Classic TIL article 25305 (Mac OS X 10.x: Using Mac OS 9 Control Panels in Classic Environment) states: "Not all Mac OS 9.1 control panels work in the Classic environment. Some control panels may have limited capabilities, and others may be turned off." The article goes on to offer details about Apple's Mac OS control panels.

Dock hiding glitch prevents dragging file to Trash If you select to hide Dock, you may be unable to get it to appear when you want to drag a file to Trash. At one point, we had success if we dragged the cursor all the way to the bottom of the screen (the Dock then popped up). But when we tried it today, the Dock did not appear. Other readers have reported this as well. A work-around is to use a utility such as TinkerTool, to get a Trash icon to appear on the desktop.

Update: Curtis Burns reminds us: "Alternatively, Cmd-Opt D toggles the Dock between hidden and unhidden." Ian Kelleigh and Will Litchford suggest: "Just use "Command-Delete" to move the item to the Trash.
