OS X info: Kernel panic and PPP follow-up; ASP crash?

CNET staff
Matthew Culmore, working with AppleCare, sent us the following info:

Kernel Panic and PPP connections Apple has acknowledged this problem (see previous coverage). They say it is due to a glitch with the core system kernel and they are working on it. They are interested in getting copies of digital photos of screens showing the kernel panic text that the bug precipitates.

ASP crash? Reports have verified a bug that can crash Apple System Profiler when selecting the Devices and Drives tab. Other tabs are fine. A fix is being prepared. [Note: we have never seen this crash on out OS X system.]

Update: David Freeland replies: "My ASP crashes every time I go into the Devices and Drives tabs. For me, the cause was my Que! Fire 12X10X32 drive. If I unplug the drive, I don't get a crash in ASP."
