OrangeLink Plus FireWire/USB card and FireWire drive: Photoshop documents corruption?

CNET staff
There appears to be an intermittent corruption problem with some Photoshop files when saved to a FireWire drive attached to a PCI FireWire interface card. Sandy Campbell writes:

"Several of my Photoshop 6 images were corrupted when saved to an external FireWire drive connected via an OrangeLink Plus PCI card. The files would often contain a mosaic of image pieces that changed as I opened the file. However, The problem does not occur if the drive connected to a machine with built-in FireWire ports. After several months of testing< various causes, I believe I've isolated the problem to the FireWire interface card. An OrangeMicro technician told me he had run across a few isolated cases like mine and would look into it further. So far he hasn't gotten back to me. But the other cases he described were similar setups with corrupted Photoshop 6 files."
