Oops! Tech blogger crashes drone while teaching drone safety
Drones are pretty difficult to control, something one tech blogger learned the hard way. On a "Fox & Friends" segment, Dave Mosher of Popular Science almost nailed the cameraman.
Between a drug-smuggling drone crashing down near the US-Mexico border and another drone crashing down at the White House, it's becoming increasingly clear that drones can be somewhat difficult to control.
So, Popular Science tech writer Dave Mosher was invited to "Fox & Friends" to teach viewers of the Fox News program a lesson about drone safety. In the segment, Mosher was arguing that drone use needs to be better regulated by the FAA, then went on to perfectly demonstrate his case. Mosher brought the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ drone, the same one that crashed on White House grounds last week, with him to the studio, and in a bit of irony nearly crashed the drone into a cameraman.
Might I suggest that anyone wary of the FAA more closely regulating drones talk to the "Fox & Friends" employee who almost had a drone crash into his head? I'm sure he's now a staunch supporter of the FAA cracking down on pesky drone pilots.
