As noted by a number of MacFixIt readers, virtually all new movie trailers posted to Apple's Web site require usage of QuickTime 7.0 or later. Unfortunately, QuickTime 7.0.x requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, causing issues for some readers who have decided to stick with an earlier iteration of Mac OS X 10.3.x.

One reader writes:

"All the new trailers have been issued in High Definition format, which can only be viewed with QuickTime 7. I would have no real problem with that except that QuickTime 7 will not install on any system earlier than 10.3.9. Given the problems reported for that upgrade (especially involving external Firewire drives), I would rather wait until I no longer need my SCSI card and then upgrade to Tiger."
