LDAP error message Some users are receiving an LDAP error message when attempting to enter a to: e-mail address in a new message.

One reader writes:

"Since installing the Service pack, when I enter an e-mail address in a new message, I intermittently get an LDAP error. I close the error window and proceed and there seems to be no further issue. But getting the error so often is very annoying. Also when entering a new address, I sometimes see multiple occurrences of the same address show up in the auto-fill menu. I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that I seem to have multiple exchange address books now (Frequent contacts, Contacts, and username)."

Entourage attachment corruption Some users are still experiencing problems with corrupt attachments under the new version of Entourage. If you are experiencing this problem, make sure that you are using the latest version of the application Little Snitch (a network monitoring tool) if you have it installed. Version earlier than 1.2b5 can cause attachment issues.

MacFixIt reader Jake Jacobson reports another fix for corruption-of-attachment issues:

"I experienced a problem with attachments in Entourage after installing the Service Pack 2. However, the fix is really simple.

"Create a new identity in Entourage and try to send an attachment. If you can your user data is corrupted and will have to be tossed. If you can't, go into the login items found under accounts in system preferences, highlight the Microsoft item that is named something like daemon and hit the minus sign at the bottom of the window. Close everything up, quit all programs and restart."

.Mac mail not being received Several readers are reporting problems receiving and sending .Mac e-mail through Entourage.

One reader writes:

"I upgraded my Microsoft Entourage today and have not been able to retrieve my email from my .Mac account. I tried deleting and re-adding my Mac email accounts but they always ask for my password when trying to retrieve my email. I enter the password and it says Authentication failed."

As noted yesterday in separate .Mac coverage, this issue can be generally resolved by simply removing the "@mac.com" from your the username entered in your e-mail client. For instance, if your login is set as "user555@mac.com", change it to simply "user555."
