Users express concern over Canvas 3.x.x expiration A few readers have noted that Canvas 3.x.x "expires" on August 31, 2004, and the developer, Deneba, is recommending that users either set their system clock back or upgrade to a new version of the software:
One user writes "I am an owner of Canvas 3.5.5 and was rudely shocked to discover that all copies of 3.x on all Mac OS's, will expire because of a too small storage location for the elapsed time since 1904(?) (Mac startup date?).
"Deneba kindly offers an upgrade for $250 so I can keep working. Clearly they have learned their marketing from Microsoft.
Dave Becker adds "This workhorse program is much easier to use than later versions, and will be a great loss to its users.
"Deneba claims no access to code or original programmers, and can only recommend system clock setback to allow continued use.
