Problems saving large files to root directory Several MacFixIt readers have experienced a problem under Mac OS X 10.2.6 where saving large files to the root directory of a hard drive volume will result in a file error. Other users have noted a similar problem when attempting to save large files anywhere outside of their own user directory.

The simple workaround is to save to a directory inside your current User folder, but we are interested in hearing from others who are experiencing this problem to determine if there is a common factor. Please drop us a line at late-breakers@macfixit.com.

Making TV Guide listings work with Safari We previously noted a problem with the newly redesigned TVGuide.com Web site and Safari 1.0. Separately, Thomas Sterling reports that this week's upgrade to Watson (a search/channel content tool), includes the following note:

"TV Listings Update: TVGuide.com has just changed their site so that a user accessing their listings needs to setup an account with them. We have modified the TV Listings plugin to work with the changes at tvguide.com, and users will unfortunately need to establish an 'account' with tvguide.com. We apologize for the inconvenience".
