Opening the Mac mini Ben Guild has posted a video that details a process for opening the Mac mini's case -- a process that requires the use of a putty knife.

Note that Apple recommends using an authorized service provider to perform internal upgrades and repairs, and that you may void your warranty if any component is damaged while you are attempting to open the unit's case (simply opening the case should not void the warranty).

Griffin radioSHARK: AM audio quality issues Yesterday we reported an issue with Griffin Technology's radioSHARK (a tool to record FM and AM radio streams) where the original MOV files created by the application are not properly converted into playable AIFF or M4A files.

Now MacFixIt reader Doug Weiss reports an issue with the RadioSHARK's AM recording quality:

"I purchased the Radio Shark in order to listen to AM radio while on the computer. I like the talk show formats available on AM.

"Unfortunately, There is an incredible amount of background noise which makes listening unbearable. FM works OK.

"This was sent to Griffin for evaluation. They speedily sent me a new one with the exact same problem."
