Odds and Ends: New look coming for .Mac webmail; Knowledge Base updates

New look coming for .Mac webmailApple has posted a message for .Mac subscribers indicating that a new look for .Mac Webmail is on the way, which will change the service to look similar to Mail.app's interface.

  • Among the new features:
  • Drag-and-drop messages
  • Ability to read entire messages in a pane located below the message list
  • AJAX-based "smart refreshes" that obviate reloading the entire page
  • "Quick Reply" -- allows the user to send response without leaving the Inbox
  • Built-in Address Book
  • Message flagging
  • Keyboard shortcuts for common operations like composing new messages

Apple does not indicate when the new version of .Mac webmail will be released.
