Odds and Ends: Mysterious appearing Mac OS 9.1 folder; What you should know about the Blaster worm

Mysterious appearing Mac OS 9.1 folder Lee O'Campo reports a strange anomaly where a Mac OS 9.1 system folder is listed in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences, even though none exists:

"Out of the blue the other day, my startup preference panel in Mac OS X 10.2.6 began to list a Mac OS 9.1 system folder on each of my two internal drives. These two ghost systems are listed there in addition to the normal Mac OS X 10.2.6 system that I have on the master drive and Mac OS 9.2.2 system on the slave drive. But the weirdest part of this ghost story is I have never installed Mac OS 9.1 on any of these internal drives. Moreover, these drives were first wiped and formatted and then given a clean 10.2.6 (master) and 9.2.2 (slave) system. My Master drive has never even had a classic OS of any version installed on it."
