Odds and Ends: Canon Scanners; iTools Membership Agreement

Canon scanner drivers removed MacFixIt reader Garrett reports that Canon has pulled OS X drivers for its CanoScan products from its Web site with the following notice:

"Until further notice, we are unable to continue distribution of our OS X beta TWAIN driver. Please continue to check here for updated information."

iTools membership agreement Brent Rossow notes an excerpt from the original iTools user agreement, where Apple grants itself permission to eventually charge for the service:

"Apple may change, suspend or discontinue any (or all) aspects of iTools at any time, including the availability of any iTools feature or content. Apple may also impose limits on the use of or access to certain features or portions of iTools, including a charge for or imposition of a subscription or other fee for use of iTools or any part or feature of iTools, or restrict your access to any part or all of iTools, in all cases without notice or liability."
