Odds and Ends: Adobe InDesign and Norton AntiVirus

Adobe InDesign and Norton AntiVirus A member of Adobe's technical support team blamed Norton AntiVirus as a possible cause of stability problems for InDesign in the Adobe dicussion forums.

Poster Paul, who says he received the compatibility report from Adobe's support team, offers the following process for disabling some functions in AntiVirus that may clash with InDesign:

1. "Launch Norton AntiVirus
2. Select Preferences
3. Select Auto-Protect (You may need to unlock in lower left if options are greyed-out
4. Turn off Automatic Scanning and Automatic Repair
5. Quit and Restart "
