Odds & Ends: Word 98 underlines in menus; RealPlayer 7 praise; TechTool 1.1.9 glitch?

Word 98 underlines in menus Erik Barzeski explains how to get Word 98 menus to appear with underlined letters for keyboard shortcuts: With a Word 98 document visible while another application is active, click on the document while holding down Command-Tab. If you cycle out of Word, click back in the document again, while still holding down the keys. You may then need to let go of the Tab key to prevent cycling through Word 98's menus. At this point, with the Command key still held down, the underlined items should be visible.

RealPlayer 7 praise Shelly Kraicer offers praise for the new RealPlayer 7 beta version: "Much faster and smoother than the clunky G2: it now plays back files that the G2 stuttered over and choked on; its double-size picture looks stunning; and it runs much more smoothly in the background."

TechTool 1.1.9 glitch? Brett Wickens found that TechTool 1.1.9 incorrectly identified his Sawtooth G4 (450 MHz) as a G3 model.

Update: Brian Biggs notes: "This was also true for me, however it correctly reported the CPU as a G4. It also reported the keyboard as ADB (which obviously it's not)." Peter Galko confirms that the G4 CPU is correctly listed.
