Odds & Ends: Sorenson Broadcaster update coming; Cro-Mag Rally network freeze; more
Update: According to Benjamin Ralston, the only problem with this is that he received the exact same message more than two months ago.
Cro-Mag Rally network freeze Rob Kallmeyer reports a problem playing Cro-Mag Rally over a network: "We get about a quarter of a lap through the race when the machine freezes and gives us an error message: 'The network has lost too much information.' The program then shuts down." Rob asked Pangea Software about this and they replied that they had other reports of this but have been unable to reproduce it themselves. "There must be some common denominator among the people who are reporting this, but so far we have had zero luck tracking it down. As best we can tell, it seems to have something to do with Net Sprocket failing on certain machines on the network."
Outlook and Explorer conflict: a follow-up Regarding our previous item on a Type 3 error associated with Outlook and Internet Explorer, Alan Ramos adds: "Yes, if you launch Explorer first, you won't have a problem. If you have Outlook 2001 running in the background and then launch IE, you will either crash or freeze. We resolved the problem by manually yanking the cache.waf and download cache files from the Explorer Preferences folder." Note: This sounds similar to the issue that affected Entourage and Explorer (see previous items one, two and three).
