PowerMac G4/533 intermittently fails to see Pro Mouse and Keyboard Peter Chin writes, "My PowerMac G4/533 (the new Digital Audio model) kept did not recognize the Apple Pro Mouse and Pro Keyboard on approximately one out of every dozen or cold boots. After some experiments, I found that attaching the Pro Keyboard to the USB hub in the 15" Apple Studio Display fixed the problem."

Cube repairs in Europe A reader reports that European users may face a long wait if they need a Cube repaired. Ralph Schwegler writes, "Unlike iMacs and G4s, the Cube cannot be repaired by Apple Authorized Service Providers in Europe; they have to be sent to a central repair facility in the Netherlands. As a result the repair delays can be too long for a serious user."

Update: Not everyone has encountered delays. Hans Sluiman of Edinburgh, Scotland writes: "Three weeks ago I had to send my Cube by courier DHL to the repair centre in Almere, Netherlands, as instructed by Apple. Much to my surprise when I came into work in the morning two days later I found my Cube waiting for me. Assuming delivery was overnight, the Cube was repaired and returned the same day it arrived in Almere. Not bad!"

CorelDraw 8.03 text box crashes under Mac OS 9.1 Graham Harris writes, "Since installing the Mac OS 9.1 CorelDraw 8 seems to quit immediately after creating text within a textbox. Apple tech support does not have a solution. Nor does Corel."

Update: Several users have pointed out that this is a longstanding issue and is not dependent on the Mac OS version. The workaround is to change CorelDraw's preferences to turn off "Edit text on screen." (Thanks, Dwight Sheets and James Mackie.)
