Palm HotSync problem with Kyocera Palm/phone Clark Venable writes: "Kyocera has just released their QCP 6035, the successor to the Qphone from Qualcomm. It’s essentially a CDMA digital phone with a Palm VIi built in. I just bought one from Verizon for $499. Only problem is, I can’t get it to sync on my G4! My Palm V syncs fine. When I attach the cradle that came with the cell phone to the same USB-to-serial adapter, nothing happens. I asked Kyocera Support about this and was told that they tried could not get it to work either."

TypeStyler needs URL Access David Stillman (of Strider Software) informs us that "if the URL Access extension is not installed, the user will get a message that TypeStyler can't run because the URLAccessLib can't be found. Once it's installed, there shouldn't be a problem. However, we have found a way to resolve the issue in cases where it's not installed and we'll put out another update next week that will address that. Overall the new TypeStyler 3.7.1 has been performing quite well."

GriffTax for Canadian taxes Rob Wiebe tried out Intuit's QuickTax, Canada's Tax software program from Intuit. He found that the Netfile feature (which allows users to file over the Internet) was not ready for Macintosh yet and might not be this year. As an alternative, he suggested GriffTax.

Update: Arnie Keller adds: "March 15 (said Intuit's tech support on Wednesday) is the release day for the patch to allow Canadian users of QuickTax to file electronically. The Windows patch (big surprise) has been on their Web site for quite a while."
