Orinoco PC wake from sleep freeze Bob Towner writes: "I had been using an Orinoco PC wireless card on my PowerBook G3 with AirPort 1.2 software. However, after upgrading to version 1.3.1, the PowerBook would no longer wake from sleep without freezing with the screen dark. I tried Mac OS 9.0.4 and 9.1 with the same result. Only reverting to AirPort 1.2 software eliminated the freeze."

Update: Several users report that this combination works for them. However, one added that Apple's AirPort installer has not always been 100% effective, suggesting that in this instance it might be worth using TomeViewer to extract the AirPort components and installing them manually.

GeForce update and Quark 4.11 cause screen artifacts? Joe Duhamel writes: "I have the Nvidia GeForce 2MX card in my G4/533mhz with OS 9.1. Recently I downloaded and installed the GeForce updater from the Software Update control panel. Since then, I've noticed in that when dragging items in Quark 4.11 (which until now worked flawlessly) I get screen drawing artifacts everywhere I drag an item. Nothing else has changed and my system appears to remain quite stable. Quark doesn't exhibit any other problems."

Update: Alvaro Romano had the same problem. However, Joe wrote back to say: "The problem has been resolved. It was nothing more than a damaged Quark preferences file. After removing the file from Quark's folder and then re-launching Quark, the problem disappeared."
