Older ATTO cards may not work with Mac OS 9 A reader found that his old ATTO ExpressPCI Wide SCSI Card Revision 2 did not work with Mac OS 9 (he is a developer and has access to the beta version of the OS). He contacted ATTO tech support, who replied: "Your card is our End of Lifed Q-Logic based card and will not be guaranteed with newer untested operation systems. We recommend moving up to the Express PCI-PSC or DC card, which has our Advanced Data Streaming and other features and improvements."

Tango 3.6, a maintenance update, was recently released. You may also be able to get access to Preview Release 1 of Tango2000 for the Macintosh, their next major release. Tango is "an integrated environment for developing, deploying, and maintaining web sites and web-based applications."

Explorer's "untitled favorites" A personal query: with Explorer 4.5, I find that, over the course of several days, "untitled favorite" items get mysteriously added to the bottom of my Favorites menu. I delete them but they return. Anyone else see this? Any explanation (other than simply that it's a bug)?

Update Ronald Guest pointed me to the solution to this non-bug: Command-K creates a new "untitled favorite." This is the same command I use to check my mail in Emailer. If I mistakenly type Command-K when Explorer is the active application...bingo! Doh!
