iPod dead pixels; more Nvidia cards in new Quicksilver Macs: monitor flashes Brian MacDougall writes: "I recently got a 1 GHz DP QuickSilver Mac which exhibited random flashes on the screen. The flashes were the kind you would expect if the card was not seated in the slot properly or was defective. I found a thread on Apple Discussions board that suggest that my flashes are not an isolated glitch. Some posters are getting replacement cards from Apple only to have the flashes continue."

Another JavaScript IE 5.1 bug Mohammad Haque points out (and we have encountered this one ourselves) that in addition to the previously noted JavaScript bugs in Internet Explorer 5.1 for OS X, pasting text from the clipboard into a JS alert window results in garbage be pasted into the field.

iPod "dead pixels" A reader writes: "I went snowboarding with my iPod and afterwards noticed what appeared to be dead pixels. I took it to the Apple store, and after much deliberation and back and forth, they discovered that the Liquid in the LCD that had seeped out (no one knows how). After more deliberation and bat-phone-calling, Apple replaced it."

MacHome drops bundled CDs Chuck Garrett reports that MacHome magazine has discontinued its bundled CD with subscriptions.

Update: Lawrence Beyer adds: "Macworld recently sent me a note discontinuing their bundled CD beginning with the April issue, however, newstand issues will continue to have a CD."
