iTools, mac.com services interrupted Saturday Several users have reported that both iTools and their mac.com email addresses were inaccessible for at least several hours on Saturday.

Update: Peter Nau notes that the interruption was due to scheduled maintenance, a fact he discovered when reading the iTools board in Apple Discussions.

iMac (Flat Panel) serial number location Dan Mahn reports that the serial number of his iMac (which is generally found on the bottom of the unit) is also located on the inside of the outer curved tray cover of the optical drive.

Update: As several users pointed out (and we ourselves have previously reported), the serial number is also accessible from the OS X About This Mac window. Just click twice on the version number to see it. However, this won't help if you need the serial number because your Mac won't start up and you are calling Apple for assistance.

Ejecting 'bad' CDs: another suggestion In a follow-up to our previous coverage, George McKinlay adds that attempting to burn a CD in iTunes will also usually result in any disk already in the drive being ejected.
