iPod extension conflict Tracy Valleau writes: "On my Dual 800 with 9.2.1, the iPod FireWire Extension conflicts with MOTU's 828 audio box (which also uses FireWire). It causes the box to go completely off line. Disabling the iPod FireWire Extension fixes the problem."

HP G85xi OfficeJet: a follow-up Thomas Thatcher writes: "With respect to your previous item on this printer, I can confirm that there have been a lot of problems printing and scanning in OS 9.2.1 and OS X. The only OS HP has supported since I bought my machine in late August was 9.1. Some functions work in later OS's but it has been limited and quite buggy. Printing in X must be done by running in Classic and foreground only. I have gotten erroneous errors that the printer is out of ink and/or paper. The HP Director often crashes on its own for no apparent reason. The HP Workplace doesn't do much of anything related to faxing and filing as it is supposed to do. Rotating a scanned image 90 degrees causes the software and often the system to crash." Edward Hanna adds: "The latest version of that driver causes more problems (crashes, system corruption, etc) than previous versions and should be avoided at all costs. Version 1.2.5, while far from perfect, seems to cause the fewest problems."

Voodoo 5500 PCI: support fixed by OS upgrades Stephen Rickard writes: "After installing a Voodoo 5500 PCI card, I found that I was unable to adjust my 21 inch Apple Studio Monitor through the Monitors control panel in Mac OS 9.1. Furthermore, I found that OS 10.0.4 provided no support for the Voodoo card. All I got was a black screen. After installing OS 9.2.1 and OS X 10.1 I can adjust the monitor perfectly."

Shrek DVD not for Macs Fred Tedsen writes: "'Shrek' is the latest popular DVD that excludes the Mac from the DVD-ROM content on the disk."
