Internet Explorer 5.1 memory setting Several readers have pointed out that updating Internet Explorer resets the available memory to its default, which is almost certainly too small if you have installed any plug-ins, especially memory intensive ones like Shockwave. If IE suddenly began behaving abnormally after updating or reporting out of memory errors, check to see if it needs more memory in the Get Info window. Dan Boyle notes that the default for 5.1 is lower that 5.0. Also see our previous IE 5.1 coverage one and two.

Firewire/iBot WebCam and OS 9.2.2 Ken Hoyle writes: "After I updated to 9.2.2 and iVisit, Clearphone and BTV ceased to recognize my iBot camera. Replacing the FireWire Extensions with those from 9.2.1 (v2.8.4) has fixed the problem and Sofware Update does not report that FireWire is out of date."

U2 Live in Boston DVD has Mac content! LeRoy Wong found that the U2 Live in Boston DVD contains Mac content, including a Mac OS 9 screensaver and a Mac-specific browser menu. We wonder if U2 are Mac fans. Update: a reader adds: "U2 are huge Mac fans. Their engineer runs much of their show backstage from a PowerBook."
